Podcast development studio founded by Laura Mayer

There’s no record book for this sort of thing, but if there were I’d be a contender for the person who has created and launched more successful shows than anyone in Big Podcasting.

I was a producer at WNYC, became employee number one at Slate’s Panoply network, moved to Stitcher as the Executive Producer in charge of new show development, and then cofounded the production company Three Uncanny Four with Sony Music Entertainment.

What does this resume mean for you, my prospective client?

It means I make marquee shows. I know how to collaborate with talent. I assemble enduring creative teams. I know how to make a show work both creatively and commercially.

Here are some things you might hire me for:

  • Develop and produce podcasts for your production company or podcast network

  • Help you assemble the production arm of a new podcast company

  • Help you refine production teams and processes within an existing podcast company

A small selection of my most memorable shows

Here’s what other people have to say

One of the brightest talents in the podcast world.
— Adam McKay, Film Director (Don't Look Up!; VICE; The Big Short)
Laura Mayer is truly outstanding. She’s the rare person who is brilliant and creative, and also reliable and detail-oriented.
— Gretchen Rubin, creator and host of the award-winning “Happier with Gretchen Rubin” podcast; author of “The Happiness Project” and other books
Laura knows great stories. As someone who has worked alongside her to execute a shared vision, she has a talent for production, development and leadership.
— Stephanie Kariuki, Senior Producer at Vice Audio
Laura’s sharp outlook on what works and doesn’t work in audio has launched some of the biggest franchises in podcasting. She was willing to help me weigh the logistical and creative problems of many shows.
— A.C. Valdez, Senior Producer at The Atlantic
I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to work so closely with the BRILLIANT Laura Mayer. She challenged me creatively, looked out for me professionally, and excelled at the near-impossible task of making a podcast team run, and run well.
— Henry Molofsky, Podcast Producer (Wind of Change, 9/12, Running from COPS, Missing Richard Simmons)
